What is complete site development?
Complete site development involves taking a construction project from land to finished structural product. This means that as a complete site development company, Palmetto Corp is able to manage every stage of a construction process, from clearing trees, grading, paving, and vertical construction. You give us the land, and we can handle the rest.
Is Palmetto Corp considered a general contractor?
Yes, Palmetto Corp holds general contracting licenses for both North and South Carolina. We can perform and manage construction jobs as either the general contractor or the sub contractor.
How far outside of your plant locations do Palmetto Corp’s services reach?

When should asphalt be used vs. concrete?
Asphalt is best for heavily trafficked areas, like roads and parking lots. Concrete is best for sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveways, loading docks and boat ramps.
How do potholes form and how can they be repaired?
Potholes are caused when water seeps into the cracks of asphalt and freezes and expands. Parking lots and roads are particularly vulnerable to pot holes if they have numerous cracks or a poor underlying structure. Potholes can be prevented with regular asphalt maintenance and crack filling, and can be repaired by patch work and repaving entire lots when needed.
How is asphalt made?
Asphalt is made by combining sand and crushed rock with heated binder, which we get from oil refineries. It is then heated to a temperature of over 300 degrees at our plant before it is carried to job sites by our dump trucks.
Is asphalt environmentally friendly?
Yes! Asphalt is 100% recyclable and is the most recycled product in the United States, ahead of aluminum cans, news print, and plastic and glass beverage containers. When we remove (by milling) old asphalt from a road or parking lot, we crush it, mix it with additional aggregate and binder to make new hot mix asphalt.
